Originally commissioned for the 58th Carnegie International at the Carnegie Museum of Art in 2022, Some seasons: Fereydoun Ave and the Laal Collection, 1959–2019 was later presented at Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai (2023–2024). Curated by Negar Azimi, Sohrab Mohebbi, and Talia Heiman, the exhibition spans five decades of modern and contemporary Iranian art through works drawn from the Laal Collection. Bringing together more than 30 artists, the project highlights Fereydoun Ave’s influential role as an artist, collector, and cultural catalyst whose practice has shaped artistic production and exchange across Iran from the late 1950s to the present.
