Highlights of this year's selection include a striking painting Airplane No.3 by the late Hassan Sharif and a series of scratched prints Collecting Waves by Mohammed Kazem—both established figures in the local art scene. Also on view are ceramic works by London-based artist Lubna Chowdhary, whose Tanzanian and Punjabi heritage informs her vibrant practice, and No More Seashells on the Sea Shore, a poetic series by Iranian artist Fereydoun Ave, created on the Seychelles Islands in the company of Cy Twombly.
The presentation also features emerging voices, such as Fariba Boroufar, whose textile-based sculpture revives elements of vernacular Iranian architecture that are disappearing, and Indian artist Richi Bhatia, who collects and processes fish scales, weaving them into scrolls and skin-like forms reflecting transformation and resilience.
