Overview
Rumors from the Skies, the third solo exhibition by acclaimed French artist Abdelkader Benchamma takes Inspiration from The Comet Book (Kometenbuch), a 16th-century Flemish treatise depicting comets and fantastical apparitions, Benchamma explores how astronomy and astrology, science and folklore, continue to overlap in shaping our perception of the cosmos.

The exhibition unveils a new body of intricate ink drawings and landscapes where meteorites, crying stones, and shooting stars drift across forests and horizons, hovering between recognition and mystery. A monumental mural paired with a projected animation extends this vision into immersive territory, opening onto swirling, otherworldly sequences of light, texture, and form.

Drawing on literature, philosophy, and astrophysics, Benchamma transforms celestial phenomena into symbolic landscapes that invite us to move beyond the material and the real, into dimensions where the rational and the fantastical coexist.
