Our booth at Abu Dhabi Art this year presents three generations of UAE-based artists and their interrogations of materiality through the prism of systems and processes. Hassan Sharif’s Semi System (2013) rubs shoulders with Mohammed Kazem’s new series of scratches Crossing Sounds and Folding Sounds (2021). Complementing this duo is a wall installation by Vikram Divecha displaying a series grey boards, redolent of his earlier Road Markings yet referencing his recently show tile heaps (Negative Heaps of Designated Waste, 2015).
