Zé Tepedino lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. In 2016, he graduated in Visual Communication from PUC-Rio. His practice revolves around composing with the world and its cities, using discarded materials, fabrics, and objects to create new arrangements that reveal the beauty of traces and the memories they hold. Known for his site-specific public art interventions, Tepedino expands the scope of his poetic actions, engaging in a dynamic dialogue on and with the city.
His work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions, such as Geometria crepuscular (2024) at Galeria Gentil Carioca, Ainda viva (2024) at Casa de Cultura do Parque, and Rio a Medida da Terra (2024) at Galeria Flexa, all in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2023, his work appeared in Funk, um grito de liberdade at the Art Museum of Rio. Other notable group exhibitions include Ar Livre, Arte Livre, Arte Ecologia e os communs (2023–2024), curated by Amanda Abi Khalil at Aterro do Flamengo Park, TAP; If I Were You (2022) at Espaço Kupfer in London, UK; O Cru e o Cozido (2022), curated by Pollyana Quintella at Athena Gallery; Heat (2022), curated by Victor Gorgulho at Quadra Gallery; Sol (2022), curated by Alexandre da Cunha at Marli Matsumoto Gallery in São Paulo; Saravá (2022) at Anita Schwartz Gallery; and Abre Alas (2022), curated by Alexandre Maxwell and Pollyana Quintella at Gentil Carioca, all in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
