The Nuba is an Arabic word which means, originally, a musical performance played according to determined rituals.
Subsequently, in Arabic and other languages, this word evolved and started to designate a lively and noisy party. This installation is a reconstruction of a space dedicated to music and the pleasure of the senses.
In this space, musical styles are combined (Umm Kelthoum’s songs and Moochy’s composition) and provide a hypnotic sound result. Arabic signs, beyond their decorative and ornamental function, become the expression of a world where forms offer a new visual field which differs from its initial aspect.
'If Only "evokes the frustration that arises in contrast to the prohibitions and taboos related to sexuality. These two words move and dance while caressing each other and they refer to a universe of sexual fantasies. Thus, they are the embodiment of what is prohibited and invisible.
